IT'S SPRING BREAK... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????

Well, if I had a dollar for every time I've heard "IT'S SPRING BREAK...  CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????" screamed on the beach in the last couple of weeks, well, lets just say that I'd never have to work again... And of course its always in some very high pitched female voice (For those who watch How I Met Your Mother, there are lots of "woo" girls down here).

Actually spring break down here has not been too bad yet although we are being told that today is normally the worst day of the week as lots of local town kids descend on the island as well.  We also have the Snoop concert right next to us tonight so we'll see if we get any sleep.  We have still be venturing out to the kiting beach and even the grocery store yesterday, and while things are much busier than normal, it is manageable.

Not too much going on for us here.  Matt has been kiting and I've been working on some scrapbooking pages and getting things ready for the classes that I'll be teaching at the Bald Eagle Festival in November.  We did get to watch another turtle release a couple weeks ago, I'll get some photos posted up later.

I've started a new blog http://shetzersdesigns.blogspot.com to keep my scrapbooking stuff a little separate from our person blog so instead of posting the posts twice, I'll just post some links here and you can check it out if you wish.

Here are a couple of links here of some new scrapbook pages that I've done.

Traveling through Moab, Utah

I wanted to share a few scrapbook layouts from our travels through the beautiful landscape of Moab, Utah last May.  We were lucky enough to spend 2 weeks in the Moab area so we had plenty of time to explore and take photos of Dead Horse State Park, Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park.

AWAY WE GO - May 17, 2010 - Dead Horse State Park - Moab, Utah

JOURNALING:  We left Bryce Canyon about 9 am to make the 4 1/2 hour drive into Dead Horse State Park.  Along the way, we stopped at a Wal-Mart in Richfield.  We drove into the beautiful campground about 4 pm.  After finally figuring out how to get the trailer into the campsite, we set out to explore the point overlooking the Colorado River.  What a gorgeous place to watch the river wind through the canyon.

South Padre Island - April 2010 - Scrapbook Pages

Below are the pages that I created for our month in South Padre Island, Texas, in April of this year.  As many of you will remember, it was a battle between us and the RV to see who would win the "leak" battle.  (Just a FYI, WE won....  No more leaks...  (knock on wood)).

It was a great month where we relaxed on the beach and got accustomed to RV living.  I will say that we had more lumps on our heads as we got used to the RV, its amazing how many low hanging things there are to knock you in the head.

Apr 3 2010 - Our Trip- Journaling: April 3 arrive.  April 29-30 Ted's visit.  May 1 Depart

Apr 3 2010 - Camp More Work Less- Journaling: We arrived on South Padre Island on April 3.  We would spend the next 4 weeks relaxing on the beach & kiteboarding.

Apr 3 2010 - Grapefruit- Journaling: South Padre Island, Texas.  We discovered the farmer's market on Saturday mornings.  Our favorite purchase was a huge bag of grapefruit for only $5.  We would squeeze them for the most delicious juice.
